3+ WAYS to Kill Weeds Without Poison

Skip the poisons! Opting for natural weed killers will keep the weeds at bay and keep your loved ones safe from dangerous toxins.

As someone once famously said, a weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place. The wrong place usually means that a human has decided they don’t want that particular plant in that particular place.

Spraying weeds with poison is EASY. Sure. But do you want your loved ones exposed to those toxins? Happily, there are lots of other options!

1. Smother the weeds. Use mulch as a stand-alone solution or over pieces of cardboard to squash growth.

2. Use salt to kill weeds growing in patios and walkways. (NOT in garden beds - it's an indiscriminate killer.)

3. Manually remove weeds with a garden hoe. A hula hoe works great for surface weeds and is easy to use.

4. Pull weeds by hand. This is easier with some weeds than others. Try to remove the plant, root and all, to prevent it from returning.
